On open mic mini feature night at the Café in Chicago 08/16/11, Janet Kuypers was asked to read a short story of hers that appeared in v097, the 08/11 issue of the monthly Scars Publications magazine Down in the Dirt, which remains available for sale on line (which was also released as the 6" x 9" ISBN# book “Catch Fire in the Treetops”). Since her story “Gabriel” originally appeared in her ISBN# book the Window, she highlighted both that book and the new collection book (as well as the magazine issue) before reading her short story to the live audience in Chicago. Kuypers also plans to use this live reading of her short story for the audio CD release of her book the Window.
