Janet Kuypers’ short story feature “Crazy” live 4/23/17 at Kick Butt: Spoken and Heard open mic     On April 23rd, 2017, people got together at the weekly Austin poetry/comedy/music open mic at at Kick Butt: Spoken and Heard, and Janet Kuypers was the feature performance that night, where she chose to read her short story “Crazy”.     Janet Kuypers first performed her short story “Crazy” as an impromptu feature at the open mic she later hosted in Chicago at the Café 10/20/09, where host Charlie Newman later said that this performance may have been one of her best show ever. Because of the positive reaction to this performance, Janet Kuypers also used this story as part one of her JK with HA! show that she performed in Chicago 10/3/12 with the HA!Man of South Africa (which was recorded with a Canon, a Kodak, a Sony and a Samsung camera).     Before the show started she also released a chapbook of the short story, and this chapbook “Crazy” is still available online even during her reading, so anyone could (and can) download as the chapbook as a PDF file for free any time.     There is also a YouTube playlist of the videos of this show, and there are also two additional web page listings for the videos from this show — one is at Scars Video (at www.artvilla.com/scars), and the other is from the main listing at artvilla.     Below are video links from April 23rd 2017 (4/23/17, or 20170423), where Janet Kuypers performed her short story “Crazy” (with the introduction read by New York native Brian Lamont).     (Because the beginning of the story mentions monitors watching Madeline* all the time, a number of cameras were placed around the stage and were referred to a few times in the performance. One camera was also felt to simultaneous broadcast the reading on a television set at the edge of the stage for someone to monitor while she was talking.)     * (Madeline is the main character, and Madeline is not her real name.)
