Elvis Impersonator Encourages People to Eat Veggies

Viva Las Veggies - that's the message from the group P.E.T.A. in its latest campaign.

Decked out in a black polyester jumpsuit, an Elvis impersonator rolled in to downtown Nashville Wednesday. The stunt was courtesy of P.E.T.A., People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Fat Elvis is his name, and he's touring America's most unhealthy cities, urging residents not to be cruel to their bodies or animals

Vegetarians, on average, live about six years longer, and we're just trying to get the message out that everyone can choose to be a vegetarian and have that diet and live a better, longer life, said Joe Haptas, P.E.T.A.

According to P.E.T.A., meat eaters are four times more likely to be obese than vegetarians and are ten times more likely to suffer from heart disease.
