Vaguely Crafted
                 Verses

Janet Kuypers
7/2/19, the day in 1566
Nostradamus died, July 2

*
when you first fall and no
one is there to pick you up
dust yourself off for you have
the power to keep going

*
now facing a solitary battle
the one you once trusted
will turn against you and
rip you of your innocence

*
your intellect will lead
to extinguishing all doubt
of capabilities once you
will truly reveal yourself

*
when all seems safe and clear
terror will come from behind
and leave you defenseless, to
piece your life back together

*
after leaving for too long
and not seeing the signs
is when the beyond claims
loved ones to the afterlife

*
approaching new struggles,
true safety will arrive when
you least expect it and bring
you true love to your destiny

***
the beauty in the vagueness
of just the right combination
of words and thoughts can
revolutionize the astrologer

claiming vague notions based
only on things they can decipher
leads leaders of the paranormal
to hone in on the desperate

those looking for answers, those
who don’t know where to turn
these are the ones who open
their minds to the impossible

that is when they open the door
and that is where you step in
with just the right words, to guide
them through to what you choose

an astrologer is a wordsmith
vaguely piecing together
a script anyone can believe
so they will blindly follow

and that vagueness is the key,
because no one can prove
you right or wrong, you
were just sharing words

so... listen to these words
and some of these quatrains
will ring true to you; piece
your thoughts into these words

and make them your own,
connect with them, because
throughout the ages, this
is the real power of words
